PACKAGING company Amcor Ltd says it has not received a takeover proposal and is unaware of any party seeking to acquire shares in the company.
"Amcor (amc.ASX:Quote,News) advises that it is unaware of the identity of any persons seeking to acquire its shares in trading on the ASX today and yesterday," the company said in response to a query from the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
"Amcor confirms that it has not received any proposal from a third party indicating an intention to make a takeover bid for the company."
Amcor shares have risen as much as 4.4 per cent today to $7.37 after rising by 11 cents yesterday.
At 1237 AEST, the stock was trading at $7.08, up two cents.
