Pratt Industries, Conyers, Ga., is telling its customers that it will be increasing its corrugated box prices by 9 to 10 percent, effective with shipments on or after Sept. 10. In addition, it will be increasing the price of its corrugated sheets by 12 percent and raising prices on all wax treated corrugated products by a minimum of 12 percent.
“We have experienced a rapid run-up in transportation and energy costs, as well as on other products associated with the corrugated converting process such as wax, starch, inks, and strapping,” says Michael Harwood, deputy chief executive officer, Pratt Industries.
The company is currently a net purchaser of containerboard. Integrated containerboard producers are currently implementing a containerboard price increase.
